Cates -- Mrs. Icy J. Lindley 82, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill, at 8 p.m. Sunday. She had been a patient 11 days and ill the last 4 months. Mrs. Lindley was born on Aug 4, 1888 in Fountain County to Austin and Mary Shultz Parrent. On Dec 17, 1904 she married Fred Lindley, who died Jan 16, 1960. Mrs. Lindley was a member of the Cates United Methodist Church, Cates Camp 4425 RNA, Cayuga Chapter of the American War Mothers and Cates Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include one son, Bernard, Cates; two daughters, Mrs. Reva McKeighan, Cates and Mrs. Fay Cole, Mellott, and 7 grandchildren. Services will be conducted at Cates United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Lucille Esvenshade officiating. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Bodine-Shelby Funeral Home at Covington. - kbz

Mrs. Icy J. Lindley, 82, a resident of Cates most of her life, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 12, [1970] in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient 11 days. She had been ill four months. Mrs. Lindley was born Aug. 4, 1888 in Fountain County, the daughter of Austin and Mary Schultz Parrent. She was married Dec. 17, 1904, to Fred Lindley, who preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1960. She was a member of the Cates United Methodist Church, Cates Camp 4425, R. N A., Cates-Fulton Extension Homemakers Club and the Cayuga Chapter of American War Mothers, Surviving Mrs. Lindley are: one son, Bernard of Cates; two daughters, Mrs. Reba J. McKeighan of Cates and Mrs Faye E. Cole of Melllott; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters and two sons. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, April 15, at the Cates United Methodist Church, where she was taken one hour before services. The Rev.Thomas Stapp and the Rev. Lucille Esbenshade officiated. Burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. The Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington was in charge of the arrangements. -- Typed by Debby Masterson.
